Diplectrona felix is distributed in Western and Southern
Europe and on the Balkan.
Larvae exclusively occur in springs, rivulets and small rivers that
keep a low water temperature during the summer months (Botosaneanu
& Malicky 1978, Robert & Wichard 1994, Edington & Hildrew
1995, Waringer & Graf 1997). The species does not tolerate organic
pollutions (Pitsch 1993).
Adults are present from June to August (Waringer & Graf 1997).
